Statement of Faith

We believe that the Bible is the inspired word of God holding all authority over our lives.

We believe that there is only one true God, yet He exists in three persons.  We believe that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit eternally exist and are equal in nature, power and authority.

We believe that God the Father is sovereign, just, all-powerful, all-knowing and everywhere present.

We believe that God the son, Jesus Christ, came to live on this earth by virgin birth and was both God and man.  We believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and rose again to be seated at the right hand of God the Father.  We believe Jesus Christ is our personal advocate before the Father and will return in all His power and glory to claim His own.

We believe that the Holy Spirit lives within those who have repented and believe in Christ, and is the assurance of our eternal salvation.  We believe that the Holy Spirit acts as the agent of our Heavenly Father to convict man of his sin and to restrain evil in the world during this Church Age.

We believe sin to be rooted in disobedience to God’s will.  We believe that Satan is a spirit being who is the enemy of God.  We believe him to be the prince of this world commanding demon spirits in his spiritual battle with God’s kingdom.

We believe man to be sinful by nature and by his disobedience to God’s will.  Therefore, all people are separated from God, but can be reconciled to Him through His Son, Jesus Christ.  We believe that man has been given a free will to choose between God and evil.

We believe that man is saved by the grace of God through faith in the sacrificial death and blood atonement of Jesus Christ.  We believe that He died for our sins, according to the Scriptures, as a representative and substitutionary sacrifice.  We believe that all who repent, believe in Christ as the Son of God, receive Him as Savior, and confess Him as Lord, are justified on the basis of His shed blood. We believe that salvation results in eternal life with God for the believer.

We believe that we can talk directly to God through prayer.  We believe that God hears all of our prayers and will answer them according to His Will.

We believe that God’s will creates order in this world and that He created the Church to be both an organism and an organization.  We believe that the local church, a part of the body of Christ, has been ordained of God to love, worship, and honor God; to engage in the practice of disciple-making through instruction, development of individuals’ spiritual gifts, kingdom acts of service, and the public sharing of the Gospel of Christ; and to carry out the ordinances of baptism and the Lord’s Supper.

We believe that the baptism of believers by immersion is a symbol of our identification with Christ in His death, burial and resurrection and the rebirth of the new man in Christ. As such, it is a step of obedience only to followers of Christ.

We believe that the Lord’s Supper is a memorial service of the death of our Lord and the work He did for us on the cross.
